According to reports, Real Madrid is prepared to break the team's transfer record in order to sign a 24-year-old PSG attacker.
Attacker Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain has been rumored to be leaving the team. The 24-year-old was expected to begin the season with Real Madrid, but he ended up extending his deal with the French team.
Real Madrid is prepared to set a new record for Mbappe.
La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Real Madrid is prepared to shell out a billion euros for him. Included in that are his transfer fee, wage, commissions, and image rights. The transfer fee would be 150 million euros plus the transfer bonus and commissions, and his pay for the following four seasons would be 630 million euros.
It makes sense for Real Madrid to go all-out for one of football's biggest stars given that Karim Benzema is 35. Mbappe has already expressed a desire to join Real Madrid, so there may be a chance if PSG is open to negotiating his exit.
Mbappe moving around?
Mbappe has been linked to a transfer away from PSG for at least a year, and numerous times, prominent PSG figures have spoken out to deny the rumors. It is challenging to imagine PSG approving a sale next summer, but the conclusion of these most recent reports is still uncertain.
The 24-year-old won the Golden boot in the World Cup in Qatar, scoring a sensational hat-trick in the championship match, but he was unable to lead his nation to the victory. The competition's championship match saw France advance but lose to Argentina on penalties.
