The producer of Pirates of the Caribbean claims they intended to murder off Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow.

This year, Johnny Depp has made news for his legal troubles instead of his artistic endeavors. Prior to 2022, all the discussion revolved upon his trial with ex-wife Amber Heard, who accused the actor of domestic abuse and he countersued for fraud.

Disney decided to drop Johnny Depp from upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean films as a result of the issue. Even though he won the trial, he isn't thinking about going back as Captain Jack Sparrow since he claims they didn't think he was innocent and as a result he feels "betrayed." This comes after the actor expressed a desire to give his character a "decent finish."

Producer of Pirates of the Caribbean claims Jack Sparrow was supposed to be killed.

Disney had considered killing off Jack Sparrow even before all of this. Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer of Pirates of the Caribbean, stated to The Hollywood Reporter: "You cannot (kill Jack Sparrow). We attempted to murder him. It was a failure."

Bruckheimer is claimed to be one of Depp's biggest backers and is still pushing for the actor to return as Jack Sparrow, despite the fact that he provided few new information. He would not, however, say whether or not that will occur.

He replied, "I can't say (whether he would rehire Johnny Depp). "You must inquire of them. He's a good buddy and an excellent actor, so it's unfortunate that our personal lives influence everything we do."
